Get Text-only Directions from Google Transit

01.23.08 | Comment?

Last week on the official Google Blog, one of the contributors wrote about Public transit made easy. In hopes to draw more transit agencies onto the platform, the author promotes Google’s textual directions as applicable for the blind who use screen readers as well as promoting the Google Transit Feed Spec, written than none other than my bro.

Chris posted on the Google Maps blog that more agencies were recently added:

  1. Fredericton Transit, Canada
  2. Pioneer Valley Transit Authority, Massachusetts
  3. Sage Stage, California

I was also unaware of the California coverage in Orange County, Sacramento and Burbank. I need to write a “concerned citizen” letter to my local County Connection.

Is your local transit authority participating?
If not, let them know you want it!
