After reading Chris Carmichael’s post about setting cycling goals, I started thinking about what I wanted to accomplish this year. First, I reflected on my riding for 2007. Last year my GPS tracked 38 individual rides for a total of 1,270 miles. I climbed 99,672 feet and was in the saddle for more than 86 hours. Not bad. Unfortunately, I only participated in one organized ride
.
This year, I mostly want to participate in more organized rides. I’ll definitely do the Marin Century again. It’ll be my fourth time. I also think that a ride in Tahoe would be a blast as well as something along the coast, like in Santa Cruz. Either way, my goal is to join three organized rides in 2008.
I’ll set my total ride goal at 52. That’s one bike ride per week, which is pretty do-able. I guess that a mileage goal of 1,500 doesn’t seem out of reach either.
So there it is. I’ll track and report on my status as the year progresses. Wish me luck on the bike!
