Yesterday, eBay launched a new service calld eBay To Go. The online auction giant jumped onto the bandwagon of offering their content to bloggers in an easy-to-consume manner. Every social network site out there offers badges that you can incorporate into your blog. YouTube and most video sharing sites let you embed video into your blog.
Now eBay is letting you do the same thing with auction content. There three versions of the embed widget: single-item, item-search and multiple-items. Just for fun, I built myself a multiple item widget. The interface allowed me to browse for items based on keywords and select items individually. I ran a few searches for Timbuk2 and randomly selected some products.
I really like this concept. What a great way for bloggers to get interesting and engaging content into their site and for eBay to gain more traction at the same time. If eBay added an API to this feature such that I could programatically generate widgets, then this would be super-duper slick.
