Now you too can create a map mashup…. sort of.  Visit the main Google Maps site and you’ll see a new tab labeled “My Maps”.  You can add some points, lines and polygons to build your own custom map.  I created one for the Napili Kai Beach Resort, where Tracy and I like to stay when on Maui.  This map took me about 10 minutes to create, and probably half of that time was spent selecting images from the Napili site to embed.  It’s really easy to use.  There’s no embed tags available yet, but those are probably coming soon.  If you wanted to embed the map onto your own site then you’d have to use the Google Maps API and overlay the KML export for your map.
