Now that there is a dog around the house I am spending a lot more time at the pet store.  Wait, that’s not quite right… before the dog came ’round, I never went into a pet store .  I must say that I am very impressed with the Kong company.  This is a maker of heavy duty dog toys.  The classic Kong is pictured here; it’s a uniquly shaped rubber toy that you can fill with yummy treats for your mutt.  Kong has broadened their offering into tennis toys, frisbees, etc.  I have their frisbee (called the Kong Flyer) and it’s not as industructible as I have hoped, but it’s still a pretty good toy.  Today Rusty learned how to catch it in the air!!!

I really admire the marketing job that Kong has done.  Their store displays and packaging are really fun, very consistent and very unique.  I wish that Kong was a public company so that I could invest!
